This is a panoramic image of the Milky Way composed of 18 separate images, taken in 20 sec intervals with a Canon 5DMkII, 24-70mm @ 24mm lens, f/2.8, ISO 3200. The meteor was in the last shot taken in the sequence.
From Colorado
Startrails over Mushroom Rocks
While waiting for clouds to clear around the milky way, I took 20 minutes worth of star trail images with Mushroom Rocks RMNP in the foreground. Editing tools Starstax and PS CC to blend. I needed to lower exposure level 4 stops in post since it was set for capturing Milky Way light.
New Smyrna Beach Zodiacal Light
-11 minutes until the 5:44AM EDT ULA Atlas 5 AEHF 5 launch and I could see the zodiacal light off to the east. I swung around to catch this shot before returning to my original composition for the rocket launch. Canon 5DM2 with Sigma ART 14mm f/1.8 lens 20s f/2 ISO 1600.
Milky Way Over Superstition
This is a composite panorama of 12 different shots. Each shot was for 15 sec @ f/2.8 ISO1600. Images were merged together in PS4. The Superstition Mountains are being highlighted by the greater Phoenix city lights. The horizon light to the left is from the morning sunrise and the light to the right is from city sodium lights.
Early morning Milky Way panorama
Early morning MW panorama of the beached Donna Kay trawler at Cape San Blas FL. 9 vertical images stitched together using PS Panorama, Topaz Clarity, and Topaz Sharpen AI. Shot with Canon 5DM4 and Sigma 14mm ART f/1.8 @ f/2 30s ISO 1600. This was a challenging edit since PS wouldn't create the proper perspective. The wide angle filter would work only to a point. I relied on transform to pull the rest of image together. Lessons learned: don't shoot panoramas with an ultrawide lens and make sure to set your WB to something other than Auto for consistency between images.
Cape San Blas Milky Way
Milky Way rising over the coast of Cape San Blas south of 30E. Light pollution on the left side, thunderstorm in the gulf, planet Mars rising with it's reflection in th water, and shrimp trawlers on the horizon. Canon 5DM4 with Sigma ART 14mm f/1.8 @ f/2 25s ISO 1600. Post-processingin LRC, PS CC, Denoise AI, and Clartiy.
