Day 2 Chile arrival
We arrived into SCL Santiago just after 7am. It was ~9+ hour flight from Atlanta. We waited in a very long line for nearly 2 hours before we had our documents checked and then a short line to have the actual PCR test done. Another hour+ before we finished with immigration, agricultural check, and baggage claim before we we're on our way to our hotel in downtown Santiago.
Once we arrived at the hotel, we encountered a kiosk at the entry that you needed to have your temperature checked and sanitizer dispenser for your hands. Fortunately for us, we could get into our rooms early and wait for the results of our PCR test. Until we received the results, we could not move outside of the room. The hotel manager wanted us to email him the results before we could move around.
Later on, I tried to order room service but no one picked up the phone. Finally, I went downstairs to the restaurant to order room service. I'm sure the management staff was not happy with us but I explained that the phones were not being answered.
By 9pm, we started to worry that we had not received a text regarding the test. I went online to the site and was able to pull up the results, negative for both of us.
The end to a very long day.
